TBEA Recreational Riding Incentive Program

Beginning January 1, 2019 (printable version)

About the Program

Milestones and Prize List

TBEA is excited to announce the initiation of our new recreational riding incentive program. As a club, we strive to celebrate the versatility of the thoroughbred horse. With this new format we hope to attract new members and encourage existing members to get more involved. Please continue to send in your trail hours as you always have, using the TBEA points submission form. There is no time limit to turn trail hours in and they are lifetime hours moving forward. This means that any hours prior to January 1, 2019 will not count towards the new program. Lastly, while we encourage riding outdoors and on your property or your neighbor’s property, we will only be accepting 25 hours per year from situations like these. This rule will be policed by self reporting. When you send in your hours please include the location where you did your trail ride and a picture of your horse on the trails. You are more than welcome to e-mail the pictures separate or attached to your forms, just make sure to include date and number of hours/location with the pictures.

Eligibility

  • All riding or driving must be done on trails (including competitive trail rides), endurance rides, or other organized group rides (including hunts and hunter paces).
  • Arena riding, lesson hours, and show hours are not eligible (This includes outdoor arenas or cross country events).
  • You are allotted up to 25 hours each year from trail riding on your own property or a neighbor's property.
  • All hours submitted will be subject to review by the points secretary and may be declined at their discretion.
  • Eligible hours begin January 1, 2019. There is no time limit for completion of the aware levels.
  • When submitted in hardcopy, hour logs must be submitted on the provided forms. Alternatively, you can submit hours via the online form (one submission per ride)

Note that you will receive a patch for each milestone completed on top of the listed prize! After you reach the 1,500 hours level prizes are TBD at 500 hour increments and you will receive a patch for each additional 250 hours on the trail! Note that the new requirements for completing eligible trail hours have resulted in each of these levels being a little bit more rigorous, we will update the milestones and prize list as necessary and provide documentation if this happens! Prizes will be awarded at the TBEA awards ceremony banquet for the year in which the milestone was reached. In the event one of the prizes at a milestone is unavailable at time of completion, an equivalent prize will be chosen by the awards organizer for that year.

Happy Trails!
