In Attendance: Elyse Evans, Jenny Ferro, Jessyca Polich, Kimberly Moss, Teresa Gardner
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM by Jenny.
Canby Tack Sale: Fall – Jenny
The sale is officially cancelled. The organizer of the sale spoke with Jenny and asked if TBEA wants to donate the $70 fee that was paid to 4H or request it back? All present members agreed we should donate it, but we will ask all board members before making the final decision.
Office Fees – Jenny
We held two online shows and need to decide where to donate the office fees. May fees were $270; June fees were $300. We donate 50% of the fees to non-profits that help with rescue. Whom do we want to donate to? Jenny mentioned Pony Up as they have taken in two needy thoroughbreds recently. Teresa brought up Serenity Acres Horse Rehabilitation in WA as they specialize in thoroughbreds.
Fall Show 2020 – Jenny
Our Fall Show cannot be held at Rolling Rock due to COVID-19. We probably cannot find another place to hold it where we could afford it. Considering changing it to a Fall Extravaganza show. We would have English, Western, Dressage and Combined Test, H/J, Halter, and Trail. For western and English the judge we pick will determine if we use rail class videos or pattern videos. Ashley Hawkins has agreed to judge jumping, Liz Lawson Weber has agreed to judge for dressage. We still need to find a judge for English/Western/Halter/Trail.
Elyse emailed Kristen with the Jockey Club about doing TIP classes online and asking if it is possible to offer TIP Rewards for virtual show. Kristin replied back that they do not generally approve TIP classes for virtual, but Elyse can email her the class rules and see if we can be approved.
We have many ribbons for our Fall Show but will need to purchase Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons. We plan on getting our entry form out before September 1st, allow for the month of September to film, with an October 3rd deadline to submit videos. Results out to competitors by October 20th. We will have TBEA members in at one price and non-members at other price.
Treasurer’s Report – Kimberly
TBEA made a $603.4 profit May show and $722.90 profit from June show. Jenny has four nice padded halters that we owed to TBEA, which will be used for Halter Champion prizes.
Other Business – Everyone
We will have to do away with the volunteer hour’s requirement for this year. In addition, year-end awards will not be as significant this year as they have been in the past.
Last time we checked, we had about 30 members, and a handful of them were new members this year. We need to run a report of those who signed up and compare to the checks received as USPS mail has been having issues.
We discussed having a club trail ride. Agreed to hold one during the week so it is less populated and one on the weekend so those who work during the week can join.
We discussed having our next meeting be outside and have a socially distancing picnic. No date has been determined at this time.
